Notice of Sales Launch of PHX-01 New Diamond Wire Producing Equipment
As explained in the announcement of our third-quarter financial results, our company has applied the technology and know-how we have cultivated in our production business for diamond wires used in solar cells to develop the PHX-01, a new type of diamond wire manufacturing equipment that can produce high quality diamond wire at low cost.
Features of the PHX-01
- （1）Four diamond wires can be manufactured at the same time, with a production capacity of 6,000 km per month. The PHX-01 is 1/3 the total length and 80% of the total width of typical diamond wire Producing Equipment (six-wire simultaneous production) in China, with over 1.5 times the production capacity despite its extremely compact dimensions.
- （2）Using our company's unique dispersant, it is possible to manufacture high-concentration, high dispersion diamond wire at a production speed of 40 m/min, which is roughly two times faster than typical diamond wire Producing Equipment in China. Also, the unique composition of the dispersant reduces the risk of wire breakage during slicing processes.
- （3） The number of abrasive grains fixed to the diamond wire is automatically controlled for each row by feedback control which uses our company's original image recognition devices. High-quality, uniform production is possible for all four diamond wires manufactured at a time (patent pending).
- （4）The amount of diamond abrasive grains used has been greatly decreased by adopting a small-capacity plating tank. This can drastically reduce the usage of diamond abrasive grains to roughly 1/3 that of typical diamond wire Producing Equipment in China, which will be effective in lowering manufacturing costs (patent pending).
- （5） The equipment is provided with functions for automatic diamond abrasive grain replenishment, and plating liquid supply and discharge, so it is capable of producing diamond wire with no need for operator intervention for a period of 9 days and a length of 2,000 km. This allows it to contribute significantly to labor saving, and can reduce direct labor costs by approximately 35% (patent pending).
- （6）Instead of the 6-row x 1-system layout (simultaneous production of six wires) that is common in China, a unique 2-row x 2-system layout (simultaneous production of four wires) has been adopted. Access is possible from both sides of the equipment at the same time, greatly improving the ease of setup as well as maintainability, and contributing to higher operating rates. Furthermore, since its two systems are driven independently, even if one of them stops due to a problem such as wire breakage, the remaining system can continue production with no impacts whatsoever.
- （7）The unique low-friction design supports wire diameters to 30 μm.

The PHX-01 was designed assuming the production of diamond wires to be used for silicon for solar cells and semiconductors, and will primarily be marketed in China. The prospective customers we have in mind are diamond wire manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, and piano wire manufacturers in China, as well as companies newly entering the silicon wafer slicing business.Products for sale
Regarding sales of the PHX-01, our company will not actually produce and sell the PHX-01, but instead will sell products such as the “Permissions for Use” and “Licenses” described below. For customers who wish to purchase a physical PHX-01 unit, we will, as an option, sell a limit of one unit produced in Japan based on our original design.(1) Permissions for Use of the PHX-01 design drawings and software source code
(2) Permissions for Use of patents related to the PHX-01
(3) Licenses for the rights to manufacture, use, and sell the PHX-01
(4) PHX-01 physical unit (produced in Japan, as an option)

A sales representative from our company will contact you approximately two weeks after receiving the Registration Form, to begin actual sales discussions.

Sales price
Our company believes that the PHX-01 can be sold in the Chinese market for 800,000 to 900,000 yuan per unit, and the selling price has therefore been set as follows. If there are a large number of requests, sales will be carried out to the top three to four companies with the highest desired purchase prices.[Basic package]
Price: Minimum of 30 million yuan plus 20,000 yuan/unit for sales (manufacturing) royalties
